Vino di Anna, Jeudi 15 Rosato 2019

Husband-wide due Eric & Anna Martens have been making wine together on the volcanic soils of Mt Etna, Sicily, since 2008. All of their wines are made with minimal intervention and no additives, with a focus on old vine Nerello Mascalese. Jeudi 15 Rosato 2019 is a blend of 90% Nerello Mascalese, with Carricante, Cataratto, Grecanico and Minnella making up the final 10%. It's a very authentically Sicilian and natural tasting wine; perfumed aromas of wild strawberries and iris gives way to notes of raspberry & redcurrant with a basilly-herby flavour playing in the background, and the classic Mt Etna stoniness on a long finish. Not your average rosé!
